Pay attention to details. Quality is not expensive, it is Priceless!
Hello All, sold my beautiful 2019 Ranger XLT Red Pepper with Black Trim Package, started working from home and it was just sitting there, an expensive driveway ornament. Sold it to my neighbor, ever made a few bucks on it, decided to go used. I have Rangers in two states. The 99 Ranger 2.5L is in Arkansas. My 89 Ranger 2.9L is in Illinois. Both have about 130 K on them. The 89 needs the most work. Got it for $1000. Did the usual to both; tune ups, shocks, tires, interior clean up. Now I don't have a big car payment, but feel the need to fix up these old things. I will be looking for technical help with things like a vacuum diagram for my 89 2.9L. Looks like the little black vacuum lines going from the air box to a reservoir, then to the interior, need to be replaced. One is just hanging there outside the fire wall. It must connect to something in the dash. I will ask for more specific advice when I get deeper into the fix it up. For now I am waiting for the AC condenser and the good blue valve cover gaskets. My 89 has the improved heads. It needs the most work. I look forward to sharing what I find ( fyi my wife is a retired mechanic so I have a pro in my corner, she is in the profile picture ) and getting all your input. The 89 will be a challenge. Thank you in advance> Dale.

Look for the vacuum diagram sticker on top of the radiator support. Hopefully it's still there.
This manual is a good thing to have. It's mostly wiring related info, but if you're going to be working on your '89 yourself it's helpful have this.

Here's what the manual has regarding vacuum routing.
