I have an 89 4cyl 4X4 ranger, and im looking to have some sirious HP and torque upgrading here soon, and i was wondering if anyone knows how much torque the good old Mazda trans will hold up to. Even if you have a figure that you know yours or someones stood up to. Any info is helpful, just dont lie. Thanks in advance!

I've been putting 10psi to my 2.3 with a nearly 200k mile M5OD behind it for the last 3 years (maybe 20k miles with that setup), just pulled the tranny while I'm rebuilding the engine and am putting bearings and syncro's in it because the syncro's were worn out...

They're about as strong as a T5, remember they put the same tranny behind 4.0's other than the first gear ratio...

Thanks for the info! Im about to be putting around 8 psi to mine with 9:1 c/r supercharged 2.5. I was told buy a guy whom i trust that they are dependable at 250 HP. Hows the turboed 2.3 treating you?

Would be better if I'd rebuilt the engine before I put it in the first time, and didn't half ass certain things...Right before I started pulling it it was running pretty good except for the oil leaks and failed intake manifold gasket...
