89 2.9 uses oil

89 2.9 uses oil,comp test 183 hi 178 lo.Vac at 18"+ 1 day 17" the nxt has good power & throttle response I cant c or feel any blow by from valve cover,wen idling fine,blip throttle it smokes valve seals? ,guides? intake leak? brok ring but compression is so good any ideas? THANX!

I had a Honda that smoked like crazy after idle at a stoplight. Great compression. Replaced the burned valve seals and that fixed it. Check (or replace) valve seals.

Yep! Valve stem sealing has went away..
