Howdy yall,
I have been using this forum quite a bit and as my knowledge increases on these rigs, I'll be posting more...Formalities done.
I have an 89 4x4 Ranger with a 2.9 and automatic. I have a 4.0 out of a 91 Explorer with complete underhood harnesses. I also have a complete underhood harness out of a 91 Ranger that had a 4.0, I know that the explorer harness has some differences. So I went to put the 4.0 Ranger harness in and found I have one major hang up. The round plug that goes through the firewall is where my troubles are lying.
So some of the wires aren't lining up between the 2.9 and 4.0 Ranger harness. Primarily the speaker wires from what I can see. Has anyone repinned the round plug to make a 4.0 harness plug into a 2.9 dash? and or does anyone have the pin outs for the two plugs?
