my 92s 2.9 is getting really run down. instead of doing the oil pan and gasket, heads and gaskets, valve cover gaskets. im just getting a different 2.9.

i found one that was in an 88 that runs cool and runs good. i know the 88's had weaker heads but i plan on keeping her very cool.

my question is, is this a direct bolt on or are things going to be different that i have to change?

thanks

Maybe (probably) fuel lines, but I'd be willing to bet you could swap the fuel rails. Majority is the same tho as mentioned above.. Just be careful with those exhaust bolts, they are easy to snap off.

ok sounds great. cant wait to get some new life under this hood!

Good luck with your swap man! I was thinking though..while both engines are out, why not change the better 92 heads onto the 88 engine you are putting in?:dunno:

i might depending on how good my heads are. ive overheated her really bad at least thirty times. so im thinking theyre warped if not cracked for sure.

once i get them off ill check and maybe send them somewhere for pressure testing.
