Good Morning,
I have a 88 Ranger with a 2.0 with the Asian carb and the electronic idle control. All of the vacuum lines with the exception of the vac. advance have been removed.(major idle issues) I would like to replace the factory carb with anything that will bolt up and is adjustable. I can't be the first guy to do this. Low cost is a must. Thanks

I know I can't be the first guyto attempt this. Anyone please!

I just replied to your PM...but I didn't read your post first...

The main problem with that carb is there are way too many vac lines...I think I spent a few days trying to figure mine out and the best I could do was to plug up all the vac lines with the exception of the distributor and a couple of others (there is one that controls the EGR of that three cluster on the front) and moved the distributor to the ones on the bottom of the intake...

If you did actually buy the Motorcraft 5200 as indicated in your PM then you will find there is only one that actually has to be attached...and that's for the distributor...and maybe the EGR depending on your emission laws...but you might want to check with your Ministry of Transportation or MOEnvironment about emission controls and making changes...I recently got a ticket for not having the EGR and air pump connected...and they are forcing me to put an air pump on or pay the fine plus have the truck impounded if they stop me again and find there is no emission controls on the vehicle...

Anyways...you would need an adapter as I mentioned in my PM reply...or buy the intake that fits that carb (may be obsolete because I couldn't find it)...

Ah, yes...that's the one I was looking for...someone posted another conversion question so I will post your link for them...thanks!
