88 ranger 9 in rear drum hardware missing?

I am having an issue brakes being really sloppy for a while now and I was looking at parts to replace when I came across a part I know is not installed. I'm talking about the wheel cyl plungers that stick out and engage the brake shoe. I know some vehicles have them and some don't. Does anyone know if they are supposed to be there? I can't find a descent parts breakdown. Need help ASAP. Thank you

yes! theyre supposed to be there. they have the little fork thing that pushes the shoe just like you said. they dont come with new cylinders though, so yould have to find some.
