Question need help

I got an 88 Ranger 4x4 I had the driver side rear brake fail well it came apart in the drum. I drove home 45 miles the front brakes work fine I changed the brake cylinder and shoes and springs. I went to bleed the rear brakes and after pumping them up over and over went to the bleeders nothing comes out but a few drips each time. I did this for 30min still nothing works I jacked it up spun the rear tire with my hand hit the brake it held for a second than back to thing. I herd there was a valve on the frame driver side that can get clogged? I looked there is no valve the hard line goes behind the gas tank

I had it smoged today the mechanic said its the brake cylinder? I herd people changing them still the same help please

test

take the cylinder off and see if fluid squirts from the hard line. If it doesn't you have blockage somewhere. There is a rubber line that goes from the frame down to a block on the rear axle then to hard lines for each side.

Yeah, Budro has the right idea.

Pull the hard line out from behind your cylinder, check if fluid flows freely from there. If it does, your cylinder is the problem. If it does not, then you most likely have a problem with a line.

Thanks guys

Both sides are the same I use a 2x4 pump the brakes shove it in run back bleed one side do it again bleed the other side. I did this 10 times each side I have no one els to help just lone wolf job. Each time only a few drops come out

Pull the line from the rubber hose that goes to the axle, pump the brakes and see what comes out. Also chase the line from the rear axle and I bet you will find a part of it rusty. It will more than likely be hidden by the gas tank.

When you unscrew the brake line that goes into the wheel cylinder, does more fluid flow, or does it continue to just drip out?
