88 ranger 4x4. 2.9

Not really a 2.9 question but, what activates the cargo lamp? Should it work by opening the door or with the reverse lights? Interior & reverse lights work but there's no power to cargo lamp. Needs to work to pass inspection.

Should be the headlight switch.. turn it I believe counter clockwise to manually turn on the interior lights and the cargo light should come on as well

The cargo light should come on with the door ajar, or with the headlight knob turned all the way to the left. Pretty much any time the dome light is on. It should NOT come on with the reverse lights.
