hey everyone im new and need some help fast.

heres whats happening.i have power to all ACC's except my voltmeter when i turn the key to run but thats it. it wont crank i tested the solenoid i know its good. i can turn the key to run position and jump the solenoid and it will run but i still have no power to the voltmeter. the batterys new and the alt is also. i just dont know what else to check except swap out the ignition switch. any ideas?

also i know all grounds are good. and right before it wouldnt start/turnover the wipers wouldnt turn off at all?

I would start by looking at the ignition switch, or the signal wire that runs from the ignition switch to the solenoid. You should have 12V on that wire, when the key is turned to "run". If you don't get 12V on that wire, the solenoid will not engage.

thanks spott.i just got back with the new switch and it didnt fix it. and i get 7V and change at the S wire.what else should i check?

FIXED WOOO. ok the lifter tap went away (unlevel ground + low oil) and the voltmeter was tripping my wipers out (+- source wrong spot) changed that and all is good there.the no start/cranking was caused by a main harness plug under the hood not plugged all the way in or corroded. unplugged it and cleaned it put it back together and she fired right up and the lifter tap faded away fast. im so happy i could cry lol ive put so much work into the truck just to get it road ready.

Thanks for the follow up Glad you fixed it. 26 yr old Fords were not designed to last this long. Neither is my 20 yr old :D

i know man every older car/truck i come across now im thinkin "why is it so beat up ect" then i remember its 2013/2014 lol

Wrong-o.

New Fords aren't meant to last 26 years. The ones from 26 years ago were meant to last forever.

well its done it again. its doing the same thing i checked all the wiring its good. checked fuses good. this time the power from batt to solenoid grounded out for a split sec and now it wont turn over again i can jump the noid and it will turn over but not with the key........WTF is it now

i just found out im not getting power at the S wire with key to start poss. what would cause this?

Now i don't know a whole lot so i may be wrong, however, have you checked that wire? All of it? are there any shorts anywhere along that wire or cuts where it wouldn't work all the time but if you moved it like you did when you cleaned the connector it would work.

I would suspect that your new ignition switch needs replacing if all other items check out good.

ok lets start a list here.so what happened is that my battery wire from the solenoid grounded out for a split sec. now it wont start with the key i have power to everything.i can jump the solenoid and it will run/drive like normal.i can remote start it and its good. it just wont start with the key. could bee as simple as the ign. switch got fried some how? the truck was fine before the wire grounded out for that sec on the fender

so what all could have happened when that cable grounded for split second?
