I have a spark issue and can't find what's wrong it will start sometimes and when it does it will only run for 30 sec then shut off wont start I loose spark new coil pickup in distributor and the tfi new still does the same thing I need some help

My 2.9 started running really ragged, especially when it went over bumps. After fighting with it for a couple days, and having to get towed home from work, I found it was a loose input wire to the coil, just a little green one.

Check to see if you're getting spark out of the coil, into the distributor. And of course, check all your grounds.

Let me know what you find.

I metered both true primary & secondary coils. The primary was find, the secondary were within tolerance except for one set that metered. 04 under however the ford dealers head service tech assured me that the tolerance was high enough that the. .04 wasn't near enough to even reduce the fire.

Okay, lemme try asking this a different way. Where is the spark getting to? Are you getting a spark signal from the TFI module? Are you getting spark out of the coil?

If you can find where the spark stops in the ignition chain, then you know what component is causing the problem. Once we know that, we can troubleshoot better.
