88 ford ranger 302ho and t5 swap!!

I have been gathering stuff here and there trying to get everything for my swap. I am gonna run the following set up.
302 ho motor
94 model t5 tranny
fuel injection w/maf
explorer brackets/ belt system
3 core radiator
vert mounts

Can you use the slave cylinder from the 4cyl or which one should i use? I will be starting soon so i will listen to all replies and tips yall can give.

You will most likely want to make an external slave cylinder setup.

2wd or 4wd? What headers do you plan to use?
Reason I ask, is the '94/'95 trans can cause header problems.

its a 2wd im gonna use the tri-y headers and use a 87-93 t-5 bell housing.

Good choice on tri y's just got some myself make sure u swap input shafts on sn95 t5 as they are longer than fox t5 input shafts and wont work. Good luck on swap!

Yes, as mentioned, '95/'95 trans need to be used with '94/'95 belhousing.

The starter and shift fork on the '94/'95 are angled downward, which interferes with tri-y headers. Some trimming can help.

The Tri-y headers is a good choice, i put them on my 87 ranger went in perfect. The swap is going to be a blast. Good luck.

So i will be ok to use the transmission like it is but i may need to do some modifying where the headers pass?

Looks like some trimming of the belhousing can make the try-ys fit.

Breeze through this thread as one guy shows how to do it. (Largo 5.0) He notched the frame, but it's not necessary.
