I am working on my mom's Bronco II, I searched and I can't seem to find a solution for my problem. I think it might be the ECU.
I can't seem to get power to the AC compresser clutch. I check the pressure switch it's closed, I have refrigerant. Fuse is good.
When i push the AC button all I get is short clicks out of the WOT relay, I tried a new relay same thing.
I have a EVTM for a 87, I cant Imagen there much difference from 87 to 88 and it looks like the wiring is really simple.
Switch>relay>pressure switch>clutch.

Would there be any reason for the ECU to keep the ac off at idle?
Last fall I cleaned the throttle body and reset the TPS according to the manual.
any ideas before I rip the AC wiring harness out and check it for problems? :icon_confused:

Are you using a meter to test, or just basing on operation (or lack of)?

I would jumper it with a hot from batt to verify that the clutch works before digging too deep.

If that doesn't work, it sounds like a wiring/connection issue.

Let us know!

Well even though the pressure switch had continuity with the OHM meter it was bad. I replaced it and all is well again. [emoji1]
