So this morning I went to go to work, got the ole no fuel pump on key on so of course no start. Didn't have time to mess with it this morning. Got home and thought I'd check the fuel pump shut off switch as I recall reading somewhere that they can start to fail and randomly trip for no reason....well apparently that's what is happening, reset the switch and it fired up.

Where can I get one other than pick a part? Is there a way to just bypass it?

Bypass is easy. Cut the plug off and solder the wires together.

Thanks, however I assume this isn't a safe idea? I've found a replacement at Oreilly for $54 so I think it would be best to replace it?

Unless you like the idea of the fuel pump running fuel over a hot engine as you try to get your jammed door open after a wreck I would replace it.

I put one in my truck when I put an electric fuel pump in it. :icon_thumby:

Looks like 2 bolts and a wire connector to replace, I'm going to get one this weekend as I don't like the idea of the damn thing just shutting off whenever it feels like it.

Course I guess for an emergency fix it could be bypassed but yet, I wouldn't like the idea of the fuel pump still being able to push fuel in the event of an accident.

I have all of mine bypassed. It probably isn't the safest thing in the world, but it greatly simplifies my wiring.
