this may sound like old ?'s. but when reviewing details about diagnosing tfi's it was specific where to test the HALL ( through the spout connector) that is external to the distributor?
2. when diagnosing no spark, when testing with a white trigger wire spark is present. when attaching spark plug to coil and cranking no continuous spark. only a small spark when the key is TURNED OFF.
what does this mean?

Um..... Could you be more specific about this? I'm a bit confused about what you are asking.

sure, I have 2 of these beasts, 87 and 88. this 88 has no spark. changed tfi, rotor and cap. white wire jumped the coil got spark. removed coil wire from dizzy inserted plug. got no spark while cranking, but when the ignition switch turned to off it sparked????
