88 2.0 ranger accesory lights and wiring harness help

So I have an 88 2.0 liter ranger with a bad engine. Also, It looks like someone has cut the wires in the wiring harness where it comes out into the engine bay from the ignition (interior). I am replacing the engine with a fuel injected one, so I will have to do some other tinkering but my question is: What do I need to do get all my lights working and my gauges working? Which color wires are the ones I need to be concerned about, because they are cut, I dont know where they went and the haynes manual does not specify clearly. Help!
