My radio/tape player has the green LED display that when you push the volume control, the time is displayed for a few seconds, and then it returns to the radio station. I want it to be the other way around, so that the time is the default display, and the radio station number shows up when the volume control is pushed. Somehow, I got it set like this recently after I had the battery unhooked, but now after doing more work with the battery disconnected, it seems like no matter what combination of buttons I push, the setup always defaults to the radio station display. Any body know how to change this setting? Thanks! And yes, I have trouble programing a VCR...

I just figured out where my radio CD was shorted and figured it out maybe try setting the clock again but after you set the minutes quickly press the sync button again once so the time is displayed solid. IDK might work

Been about 7 years since I played with that stock am/fm cassette. My current BII has an after-market radio.

My recollection is that it almost always showed the time.

For the heck of it I looked in my 87 BII owners. According to that it should stay showing clock or radio, whichever is selected. Pressing the volume button is supposed to toggle between modes. When in clock mode, using one of the radio buttons (tune or memory) it is supposed to go to radio and then revert back to time after 10 seconds.

Maybe you need to program a radio station in memory or set the time to get it happy?

Thanks for taking the time to look it up in the owners manual. I think I just have a goofy radio. The 'scan' button only scans up, and will stick when I press the left side - and even then scans up. So I guess I'll just live with it. Or, there's a premium sound setup in a '86 towncar at the local bone yard that I'm considering. Thanks again for trying to help.
