I have a 1987 Mazda b2600 with low km and in pretty good shape. I removed all the emissions vacuum carb BS and put on a 32/32 Weber. It runs good now.
What I want to know is if it being "made in Japan" makes it worth more?

I have it listed for $2500 Canadian.

Id say 2500USD is fair. I dont know what 2500 maplesyrup equates to is 'murican money.

It would be about 1800, and I'd call it crack pipe price for where I am, but the markets probably way different in Canada.

$C2,500 = $US1,870
$US2,500 = $C3,350
But what I wanted to know is there any collectable status to these trucks because that are imported from Japan? I've been getting a couple or 3 inquiries a day from locals and 1 inquiry from a couple thousand miles away. Ad has been up for about 4 days.

Sure they are legit?

I didnt think those trucks held any special value to anyone.

I didn't think they did either. But I had it up for sale previous to fixing the engine and had serious inquiries from 100's of miles away. That's when I decided to fix the engine. In any case, I think I will get my money out plus a bit.

Hmm.

I know the hardbodies do so its plausiable.

I remember a few years ago looking at buying a really clean dodge raider (rebadged mitsu), and i couldnt believe the cult following those had.

So maybe i guess lol

Wernt the early B series super updated couriers?

Mazda really had their head on their shoulders when they named their trucks. The name corresponds to engine size. If it has an "i" in the name it means injected. So my b2600 is a carburated 2.6 liter engine.

No. This era Mazda had nothing to do with ford. I didn't know that when I bought it. I thought that parts would interchange but they don't until 1994 (I think). This one is 1987. Last year of carb. The young guy that bought it is an automotive tech and wanted a carbed made in Japan 4x4 truck.

even the mazda’s that were the same as rangers (as far as engine/driveline) seemed to cost more than the ranger equivalent. It was neat how you could easily tell what motor they came with based on mazda’s model designation.
