87 diesel?

did they make a diesel ranger in 87? i found a project one by me for 750 the body on the diesel is junk but theres another parts truck that comes with it with a good gas motor and trans but its a2wd and the diesel is a 4wd so he says...

is there a 4x4 diesel or no... i thoght they were all 2wd... these motors are mech. injection not electronical so you can program them like the new ones... i would be like a 91 dodge cummins... correct?

The diesels were available with 4wd. Not as common as the 2wd diesels, but Ford made them.

These motors are electrical fuel pumps, from what I read, they arent adjustable and cost like 450 bucks to replace.

so how is that a 4 cyl diesel has less power then a freakin gas... the 4 cyl gas has about the same Hp as a diesel... what the hell? even with the turbo...

Horse power is speed.

Torque is power.

The diesel engine may only go as fast as a gas engine, but has more power (torque) to do work.

Simply put the diesel can handle more weight, just not any faster.

The diesel ranger was built for economy, not so much for speed.

well bad news! the damb thing was already sold! i found it on craigs list and 2 hours later already sold! you gotta be joking!
