I'm in the middle of replacing springs, components and shoes on the back brakes of my 86 ranger 4x4 and thought they were 10 in brakes so all my components are for 10 in. Turns out theyre actually 9in according to the Napa machine shop.
I know there's an info section about upgrading to 10in but it doesn't specify what's needed to upgrade.
Does any one know what all I need to upgrade them to 10in?

Backing plate
E-brake cables
Drums

I don't know if the cylinders are different... Someone else will chime in on those, I'm sure.

The biggest pain in the butt when changing brake sizes like that is that you have to take out your axle shafts to get the backing plate off.

Oh, and the e-brake cables are usually damn near IMPOSSIBLE to get apart after 27 years of rust and road grime buildup.

The 9" and 10" cylinders are different...I just found that out the hard way...
