Having some trouble with my 86 ranger 4x4 2.9. New plugs and wires, tank fuel pump, new gas, fuel filter, air filter. When Im sitting still, I can press the gas pedal and the truck hesitates, like its not getting enough fuel, then it goes. But still is really weak. While going down the road, I will turn on cruise control or hold pedal still and it will run fine, then slow down, run fine, and back in forth. I unplugged the sensor that is on passenger side, lower intake, and it has plenty of power. I had two of those sensors laying around and it did the same thing when they were plugged in. Guess they could all be bad, but who knows. Anyone know what this sensor is. Looks like a maf. And could it be anything else i havent checked. Yall try to throw me some ideas. Never had this problem on any of my other 2.9s:annoyed:

if it's on the passenger side of the lower intake towards the front, right behind the thermostat housing, it's the engine coolant temp sensor.

change out your tps and it shoud fix that

I'd pull codes (instructions in tech library) before assuming, I've thrown parts at one of these before, I still had issues after, it may be something stupid causing the issue.
