I have an 86 ranger 4.0 swapped. Last night I went to get some chew and when I left the gas station it wouldn't start. I could smell fuel and check and had spark. Then a big storm came through so I sat in the trick for a half an hour. Tried it again just turned over. I put the gas peddle to the floor and tried it again and it fired up. It was real choppy and idleing at 1800rpm. When I would gove it has it would die out untill I all but floor it. I drove it home and every time I stopped it would bog down untill I was over half throttle then it ran fine. I unhooked the tps when I got home and it still idles hi but doesn't bog. I'm thinkin it's the tps but not sure.

Bad TPS or IAC, or both, and way too much fuel in the intake now would be my guess.

So just get both of them and try it? Are the 2.9 iac and tps the same as 4.0 cuz I got a whole 2.9 parts motor

Took the iac off and cleaned it. It starts and the idle slowly goes down from 1800 rpm and no more bog! New iac it is. Prob gonna get a tps too just to be safe

so i had gotten the iac and tps. it ran good for about a week now. i started it today and it didnt want to start right away. when it did it was running rich and idled choppy and low. whats next
