everytime i try to crank my truck in the morning it will start but it puts black smoke out and runs very bad but in the evenings it wont start at all just crank

There are so many things it could be I would be afraid to list them all...

Can you give a little better description ? Smells ? knocks or noises ?

In the interest of helping to solve this problem with the help of as many experienced minds as possible... the poster sent me the codes he pulled via PM. I looked them up and these are what they are....

18 = No tach. Ignition diagnostic monitor, pinpoint test N
22 = MAP sensor out of range
31 = EGR valve position sensor out of limits
51 = ETC input to high
54 = ACT (VAT) to high
63 = TPS input to low
67 = Neutral drive switch - drive or accelerator on (engine off)

sounds like he's got some work to do. take it one code at a time. I'd start with the map sensor.
