And my wife picked up the tube for it today.

And they got me, I have this thing designed for 2" OD tube. I didn't even think of it and I ordered 2" tubing... which is apparently measured ID. Usually that is a plumbing thing not a structural thing. I think it will still work, I really don't want to blow another $40 on more tubing.

Tubing is supposed to be measured by OD and pipe is measured by ID. Sounds like they messed up your order.

Actually they threw me off by for some reason thinking I was after square tube. I got the train back on the tracks for round and forgot about od.

They also close a half hour before I get off work and are not open on Saturdays.

I was trying to use the smaller pipe the more accurately recreate the factory one and to reduce weight. There are also more clamp on light mounting options out there too for 2" over 2.5".

Not sure I really want to deal with trying to return them, plus my courier has car problems down at the steel shop. Something knocks out communication between her fob and her car, it has happened the last two times she drives it down there. Then she calls me in a panic because the car bricked itself and can't find the fob.

My biggest concern was interference with the bigger pipe and the gearshift lever for the winch, the tube is in the way on my current grille guard so I can't put the winch into gear and I was concerned the bigger tube may do the same thing but getting it out of gear.

Well thanks to my little photographer you can see it will be fine.

I kinda think the bigger pipe may look better anyway.

I have to weld the tubes and side plates yet but it all fits together.

I ordered strap to make brackets at noon, the shop closes at noon on Friday so I am stalled on that until Monday.

Found a Ranger sleeping in the barn after a period of potential bad weather...

And then we did a little test fitting in my very high tech Research and Development lab.

That's a weird way to hold the bumper on the front of the truck but hey, if it works for you...

Laugh it up but its a heck of a land anchor if I need something to winch off of.

I love how the side brackets box in the winch unlike what a aftermarket would do.

Just waiting on the finished pics for this one.

Is that threaded rod holding the side plates to the tube or did you find the world's longest bolts? Lol

Threaded rod to clamp it together. It needs welded yet, I was going to bolt it but I changed my mind. Kinda nice to test fit it before welding though.

Actually they were out of 3' pieces so I snagged a 6' and whacked it in half. The 6' was also like $2 more than one 3'.
