i was just wondering some of the rareitys the 85 rangers came out with. i know of the highriders in 87 but did they come out with any pakages like this in 85 cause i have a friend that has a highrider and mine sets dead level with his and his is forsure a highrider. and i would just like to know of some of the outher rareitys as well.

Aside from a snowplow prep kit there wasn't anything different in the front of one 4x4 '85 sit than another. And I don't think they changed ride height.

I would suspect you have better front springs in yours than your buddy, they both should have the same rear ride height.

what is the snowplow prep kit was that somthing that came factory?

I think it was basicly just air bladders inside the front springs to stiffen up the front suspension.

Bucket seats with a floor console is about as out there as I can think of right now. There was a overhead console available too, but they are not quite as rare. They also made them as a cab chassis, the '85 brochure shows a base 2wd truck with a service box on it.

Well that and a properly running feedback 2.8. :icon_twisted:

my '83 has the snow plow package with the air bags in the springs and a 3 or 4 core radiator and 2 inch lift blocks in the rear. I think i read somewhere on here a while ago they also had a higher amp alternator, not sure why it would need one though.

to run things like plow lights and the pump on the plow if it was electric over hydraulic. have any pics of the air bags? id love to see them!

sorry i don't. Summit sells basically the same air bags, mine just have a rubber spacer on top of the bag and no lines coming out of them to air them up, they just have the Schrader valve right on the bag. before i blew the one out it would lift the truck about 2-3 inches, keep in mind i never had the actual plow on it.
