okay so i posted awhile ago bout my 85 havin some issues, i had gotten it running for a few hours then took it out wheelin, and then my issues started again it will run, with a jump then once i take off the jump it slowly starts dieing, all my gauges and light just slowly start dieing out then it will start chockin up then eventually dieing. could it be something with my distributor? if like i got water or something could that short something like that out?

the alternator was brand new, as well as the battery, and the starter solenoid

That may be true---but the wiring harness isn't.

This could be a bad ground, loose ground....bad plug into the alternator..insulating wire rubbed through on a ground..etc..

You can use a multi meter and do a wire wiggle test with the engine running. CAREFULLY!! of course. You're looking for about 14volts DC...and if you move a wire or harness/plug a bit..and it drops off? You've found a problem.
