Ok I have a 94 ranger 4x4 with the 4.0. I was curious if there would be any real advantage to swapping the front and rear from my old 85 full size bronco under the ranger? I know the rear of the bronco is a 9 inch, not sure what the front is. Only reason I ask is because i actually cracked a hole in the top of my front diff on the ranger and have a blown u joint and maybe worn axle shafts by now in it...the front is hurting...lol

Thanks

the front shold be a dana 44 TTB there are articles in the tech section about installing one. The rear in the bronco should be a 8.8 I think. Does it have a cover on the rear?

'85 Bronco could be an 8.8" or 9" rear, depending on what engine it has. Front is a HP Dana44 (TTB).

You can swap those axles into your Ranger fairly easily though, some fabrication will be needed in order to align the coils up properly (space the buckets out from the frame a bit), and for mounting the radius arms to the frame.

Try searching for TTB D44 swap, there have been a few past threads on it.
