My credo
If you didn't build it; it's not really yours
Bought some nice looking stock 15" ranger wheels. They came off a lifted 4 x 4 and have 30" tires. Any chance these will fit our '85 2WD with leveling springs? I'm thinking not so what should be the max size I should consider? I have been looking at 215/70-15s.
TIA,
Jim

I put the 15 inch B-II wheels on my ranger with no problems except the speedo will get you in trouble if your not careful. I put a 3.73 ls carrier in the rear and with a tan speedo gear my speedometer is spot on. If you keep your gear ratio the same a black speedometer gear will get you close.

Sorry it depends on your motor and transmission bigger tires equal less power unless you change gear ratio/s. Depending on your tranny type count the teeth on the speedometer gear if your driving faster than your speedometer says you need a smaller gear in the tranny.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Speedo-Gear...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3c9c90e41c&vxp=mtr this gives you an idea on the formula the tech library will also give you a formula on getting the speedo close using tire size and gear ratios.

Thanks Kimcrwbr1, What size tires did you end up going with? Are your wheels 15"? 2WD lift or no lift?
I anticipated some trouble with the speedo but I've dealt with that before on all my vehicles.

Thanks kimcrwbr, That is what I was looking for. I think I will try to fit what I already have. If I need to buy some new rubber than so be it...
You have a nice looking Ranger.

Here she is with the new sneaks. 30" tires on 15" ranger wheels. No lift just 1 1/2" leveling coils. Could use another inch or so...

You say 30 inch... are they 30x9.50r15, or are they a metric size very close to 30?

I ran 31s on my stock Bronco II, but they rubbed really bad on the front sway bar (So I removed it... But its a trail rig, not a driver.)

yep. 30x9.5x15. No problems with rubbing but it is 100% street.
