Ok, I looked in the Tech library at axle codes & I can't find the one mine shows.

Anybody know what axle code 825 is? :icon_confused:
It's on an 84 Ranger, 2.8, with a c3 auto.

Also, If I read it correctly, there is a slight width difference in the axle shafts in the B2 & the ranger. I have a complete rear axle(7.5 with 3.73's) from an 84 B2, will it work in my ranger? My ranger rear has just started making a clunking noise when you let off the gas & get back on it, I don't have the dough to fix it right now.

On the axle code, I guess it is safe for me to to assume that it is an 82..which would be a 7.5 with 3.08's. Why my tag says 825...who knows.

The article in the tech library states the passenger side axle shaft in the B2 is 1-5/8" wider than the rangers of comparable years, but if the spring perches are different, I guess that is my biggest obstacle. Guess I will do some measuring this weekend.

82 = 3.08 7.5"

The Bronco2 axle is wider, all the extra length is on the passenger side.
the spring perches are spaced further apart.
