My truck will only start in neutral, which I understand it to mean the NSS is suspect. Well, I removed the NSS almost a year ago, and since the PO nicely included a new Standard NSS with the truck among other parts, I went ahead and swapped it in, followed the service manual advice.
The truck still won't start in park, could be an adjustment issue I suspect-- but that's NOT the reason for posting this, though I mentioned it because it may be relevant.
I recently was servicing the drum brakes and today I started the truck, out it into reverse to get out of the driveway, and I noticed I had almost no braking power. No problem, I'll just put the truck back and take a different one. Well, when I put the truck into PARK, it kept wanting to go forward! What's more, it seems the E-brakes decided they didn't want to show up for work today, because when I couldn't get them to stop the vehicle, I managed to turn off the engine and in my situation, pulled the lever into DRIVE and the truck still wants to roll backward.
A linkage issue maybe?
