83/87 f350 6.9 popping

Ok I started another project. I bought a 83 with a good motor so I pulled it and put it in my 87 crew cab and I went to start it yesterday and it is popping through the intake. I cant tell if it has a blown head gasket a bent rod or what. I just cant see why it wont run now but it started right up before.

That's nothing I've seen on a diesel before. I'd pull the rocker covers and roll the engine over with the fuel solenoid wire off and see if all of the rockers are moving.

fairly common issue with IDI's. Stuck intake valve.
