- Well, that didn't work. Let's try something else!
The hydraulic line for 83 and 84 Ranger with the Toyo Kogyo TK4 or TK5 manual transmissions is not produced and sold anywhere. We've had to try our luck finding a good line in a junkyard. If you could get it to separate from the master/slave cylinders. Here in the rust belt, that's a pipe dream. I found a new source. 2012 Dodge Ram 2500's use the same fittings as our trucks. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the line by itself, but I did find it on a pre-filled kit that came with the master/slave/line already filled with fluid and attached to each other. I was able to swap the line over to my Ranger's master/slave and they fit perfect. The kit I found is on amazon for $56 as of this post (Amazon Link). They are available for order at most parts houses, but are considerably more expensive, of course. The set I got looks well constructed and the line is braided stainless.
Here's the new line from Amazon installed on a master and slave cylinders I bought at autozone.
Here's a closeup of the slave cylinder side of the line
And here's a closeup of the master cylinder side.
