I have 82 Ranger diesel that won't start. I think I have a wiring problem with the starting circuit/glow plug wiring. Can anyone help me?? Brian in Hannibal Mo.

You should see a Repair Guide link, it will have the 1983 ranger Diesel wiring diagram which has the battery/starter/glow plug wiring

Diesel engine was first used in mid 1982 for the 1983 models, good read here about those engines:

82/83 Ranger diesel

Thanks RonD for your help. I will go to Autozone to try to get wiring schematic.This truck was made in December 82 ,but it is an 83 I guess. I would like to hear it run before I remove the engine. I am going to put the engine and transmission in a Model A Ford truck.

It will certainly sounds like a model A engine.....with retarded timing, lol.

82/83 Diesel

I went to Autozone website and came up with zilch on a wiring diagram. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will take a few before I tear this thing all apart. Is there anywhere else I might find the wiring schematic before I take it apart?
