I am planing on running 36'' tires with 4" rough country 2" coil spacer and 2" body lift..and some fender triming...anyone am something like this??..I would like pic to see the amount of possible travel..thx

On an 89 ranger with a D28 front axle that is a bad idea. The axle just wont hold up to it.

35" tires are about the limit for the stronger D35 axle and for some, the 35 has trouble holding up to 33" tires.

I have a dana 35 and the 36 are not for beating..they are for road..(militaire tire)...I was just looking to see how much clairence...don't wan't too much rubbing

This is with 5" suspension lift and 3" body lift and fenders trimmed to the top of the body line with 36x12.50 TSL SX's

thx dude that give me a good idear...but i was not planing on trimming that much...i'll see...nice looking truck by the way...what are those flexy flare???

Wtf are you talking about?

It was a loooooooong time ago. Actually now that I think about it, it wasn't even you. Had the wrong person. Oops.

Anyway, I don't know all that much about axles, but I do know that 36's are heavy tires. It seems logical that they could do damage.

Oh no, not another metalmacguyver vs MJones argument. I hope this doesn't turn out like the "31's wont fit on a 4th gen" argument.

Nice try, but I know 31's will fit a 4th generation 4wd Ranger.

There are NUMEROUS people who have wheeled and jumped their Dana 35 with larger tires than 33's without any problems. If you build your Dana 35 with a locker, 5x-760 u-joints, the right springs, MOOG ball joints, and the right shocks you can get away with a lot on a Dana 35. They are NO WHERE as weak as people think they are. Nice try though.:nono:

This truck is running 36's on a Dana 35, and we have ALL seen pictures of him wheeling in good spots without problems.:c-n:

seems like your mostly worried about rubbing and everyone else got off topic. that depends alittle on your tire/wheel width and your wheels offset and the type of radius arms
