misplaced the old parking brake cables off my 7.5 during the swap for my 8.8. I cant see anywhere in the tech articles if it says they can or need to be reused in the 8.8 or do i need to get cables for whatever the 8.8 came out of? (in my case an explorer.) i need both right and left side. doing this today! so any help is appreciated. .it is drum brakes. and a buddy has explorer cables he can me give if they will work.

If you kept the 9" drum brakes from the 7.5, you can use the same cables (I did this).

If you are using the 10" drum brakes that should be on the 8.8, I think you need new ones.

Make sure you use the cables for your wheelbase of Ranger.

What about drum 7.5 to disc 8.8? Sorry to invade thread.

Good point, i too am having the very same problem. I almost posted a new thread, so thanks for asking for everyone.

Good to know, I thought I needed new parking brake cables anyways. Now I'll just get a set for the 10" brakes instead of nursing my old ones.
