The 8.8 uses a Flange and instead of a yoke. What adapter can I buy to make it fit my 89 BII driveshaft? Where can I get it from?

Could you give me a little bit of detail so I will know what im talking about?
I know I need a flange to yoke adapter. Im sure there will be different sizes. How do I know which one? Are there different length as well? How do you measue sizes of U-Joints?

It is best if you take your drive shaft to the shop and tell them you have a flange on the axle with a bolt cross dimension of "x".

What is your dimension from end of cup to end of cup on your u-joint? I have a stock Explorer u-joint/flange drive shaft end I will sell you if it works.

I dont know the dimensions yet, I havent taken it off. It is the stock 89 BII U-joint though.

It would be cheaper for you to get a 1310 u-joint flange with a cross bolt pattern of 3.5" I believe. You will have to measure the cross bolt pattern on the flange. Like I said, I got mine for $25 locally.

What is the 1310? Are they part numbers? size categories. U-joint sizes/models?

A 1310 is the size u-joint you currently have in that drive shaft. The drive line shop will need to know that to give you the proper flange.

My BII's stock rear has a pinion flange. Does this mean I dont need an adapter like most sites say or I still need a different bolt pattern?

Grab the u-joint flange from an 8.8 equipped RBV and replace the flange on your driveshaft with it, problem solved.

Will the stock U-Joint fit the explorer flange piece?
