8.8 3.55 to 4.10 Parts list

If anybody could give me some semblance of an parts list for an 3.55 to 4.10 swap? I know I need a Ring and Pinion I have chosen the Ford Racing 8.8 sets from summit. Any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanks. It is also a 93 so I will also have to get a speedo gear, and from what info I have heard red is what I need. Thanks for the Help

You also need a master install kit. It'll come with new bearings and everything so you can replace those while since you're already going to be having the gears replaced.

i'd just find an 8.8 that has factory 4.10's in them already.

you're gonna pay ~$700-$800 just to get someone to install them. 3.55 to 4.10 isnt much of a jump either.

What is the truck used for? I like a lot of gear so if this was NOT my daily driver I'd go even deeper like 4.30:1 gears. But, even a jump from 3.55 to 4.10 will make a difference. If you are doing this yourself, I highly suggest picking up a few extra crush sleeves for the pinion in case you accidently torque the nut too far and need to start over with a new sleeve.

Cool thanks for the info, she is my daily driver it has alot of mods. I am not going to go into that because the last thread I posted took off like a rocket ship, and not in a good way.

Note I use amazon for car parts as much as I can, and never had any problems the pictures that they show as the product are always wrong so keep that in mind. The Ford Racing sets are 275 bucks, so sometimes Amazon will not save you anything.

Its a little more expensive but its still cheap insurance from keeping you to have to go in again and replace them in the future. I did a quick search on Amazon and they were pretty expensive. Found them cheaper at American Muscle. They also have 4.10 Ford Racing gears for the same price as Amazon. I was very pleased with my gears and install kit from them

Best rebuild kits I've found are on drivetrainwarehouse.com They come with all new Timken bearings. G2 sells the kit and it's under $100. Call them and they'll give you a discount if you buy G2 bearings and gears. I paid $250 for my 4.56 gears and install kit shipped to my door.

Your right they do give you a discount put there prices have gone up though. It would be nice to say I have Ford Racing gears though LOL

Summit Racing has the lowest price for the Ford Racing gears, shocking I know, but still get cheap while you can, after my paystub this weekend. I am ordering

You have to watch though, some "Ford Racing" gears are actually made by motive, MAINLY 4.10's. I dont like Motive Gear due to them being noisy, no matter HOW perfect they're set up.

either way I don't care its not getting cheap shit, but for the 500 mile break in I am just using valvoline. I am sorry, but Royal Purple is good shit used it for years, and never had a problem its in the top 5, so yes maybe its over advertised, but it does work very well
