I am considering the upgrade and wanted to know how well your shafts and U joints have held up? Seems like the cutting would weakin them alot and cause it to brake an ear.

Cutting for full-circle clips?

Shouldn't affect it, the weakest area is the thinner loop part of the ear. The material you're removing is down at the thick base of the ear.

Some however will say to tack-weld the caps in instead of modifying the yoke, as the ears can still stretch. I've never had any issues with stretched ears myself though.

As far as egging goes, on a welded front end with full c-clips you'll see some pretty bad egging after about a year on the driver's side on a frequently wheeled rig.

I run full circles on my passenger side, and welded caps on the driver's side. The drivers side seems to see the most force, and the inner slip yoke joint on the passenger side sees the least force.

3 years on mine.. no egging, no breaks.

I've done both. I find the tack welds hold up better. Makes the next change out a bit more of a challenge though.
