ok i know this has been beatin to death but....
i have a 90 ranger with a 3.08 and open diff and 9 in drums
i want 3.73 gears with a factory style trac loc, so i figured instead of putting the money into the 7.5 i'd just find a junkyard 8.8 with 3.73's and a trac loc and i know for a fact that the 95 and up exploders are not a bolt in affair as we had one in the shop today.
so what i want to know is this...
1. will an 8.8 out of the same year ranger bolt right in without changing the driveshaft flange,brake lines or fittings or shock mounts/
2. will i need anything other than different u-bolts?
3. will the width change if any mean i have to use different wheel.
and by the way its 2wd regular cab 4gyl 5spd
