I'm buying a set of axles for my '91 Ranger. Here's the info on them:

Dana 35 TTB front and 8.8" 27 spline 10" drum rear. Rear has less than 10,000 kms. on it. Front axle is brand new, hasn't been installed.

Dana 35 front has had the c clip eliminated for easy replacement of passenger side u-joints.

Both front and rear are equipped with auburn ected electric selectable lockers. These axles are a bolt in swap for generation 2, 3, 4 (1989 to 1997) rangers. Gen 1 rangers will need minor modifications.

Front cost me $1900 to build. Rear cost me $1200.

Asking $1300 obo for the pair. Prefer to sell together.

Front axle includes axle shafts, rotors, spindles, hubs, locker switch fuse and wiring.

Rear includes locker switch, fuse and wiring.

Questions that I have are:

1. Has anybody had any experience with the ected lockers?
2. Will I need to get a different driveshaft to mate with the 8.8, or will the current one work? (I'm pretty sure the exploder is a 31 spline whereas the one I need is a 27 spline) If I need a new driveshaft, will an exploder one work, or will I need to find a ranger at the wrecker that came with the 8.8?
3. Are there any other things that I'd need to look into prior to throwing these under my truck?

Thanks for your input!

Cheers

BTW, here's my beastie as she sits now:

Those axles should bolt straight in, there are no dimensional differences between a '90up 7.5 and 8.8 that would affect installing it.

As for the locker... the same Q was just asked here about a week ago.

thanks for the response, I searched on the locker, but for some reason never stumbled across that thread. Thanks! I can be sharp as a marble sometimes.

sounds like a smokin deal to me.

Yeah it was, that's why I scooped them up last night. :D I can hardly wait to throw them under my truck.
Funny thing is, this all started out from buying a manual t-case for my exploder. The guy I got the t-case from had a brand new BDS 6 inch lift from a rolled exploder on it's maiden voyage. So you just know I had to buy that too! Then of course, when I throw the lift into the ranger, I'll need to regear, and low and behold there another guy with those axles just begging for me to buy them. So the way I figure it, the manual t-case that I bought for my exploder cost me $2050.00 ( and I still haven't found bigger tires for it yet) :D
