7.5 to 8.8 gears?

Can the gears from a 7.5 rear end be swapped into a 8.8 rear end?

I have a parts truck with 4.10 gears in a 7.5 that I want to put in my truck that has 3.55 gears and a 8.8. Both have 28 spline axle.

No, 7.5 gears are 7.5 gears and 8.8 gears are 8.8 gears.

The axles numbers refer to the diameter of the ring gear, or at least for Ford that is how they do it.
