i have a 97 3.0 5 speed with a 7.5 blown to hell.. i got another 7.5 out of a 89 or 90 bronco two.. the only problem is on my 7.5 under the truck is that the drums are bigger then the new one.. am i able to just open the pumkin up take out the c clips and just swap backing plates? so that i can have the bigger drums? and i wont have to mess with the gears to do that correct?

another thing is on my axle housing by the pumpkin theres like some kind of sensor or something stick out what is that or what could it be? the axle looks a little different but i know its a 7.5 it came out of a bronco II. and the diff cover is the same

The B2 axle won't bolt under your ranger, at least not without forcing your springs outward a bit...

So I can't put that axle under the truck? What if I did just put it under

you can swap the axles if they are the same length, no gear set up needed. the sensor is for rabs, rear abs sensor. if you dont have it dont hook it up.

and if the axle for some reason isnt the same length i cant use it at all?
could i still use the gears out the axle tho?

yeah i decided not to use the axle im just going to buy a 7.5 with abs and 10 inch drums so it will just go right under the axle
