Hello all!! I am new to the group and will start with a question. A mid 80s 7.5 tracloc should fit right in my peg leg (existing) 98 ranger? My peg leg diffy has a wire coming from it ( I believe it's some kinda speed control ) and the old one doesn't. Is it a straight pumkin exhange ? I don't want to get everything apart and then run into problems.

Read up on how to properly set up gears (ring and pinion)

There are 2 different axles that were used in rangers. One is a 7.5" axle, the other is an 8.8", each number is the diameter of the ring gear. Then of course there are a number of gear ratios available aswell.

You can swap the trac lock in if you wanted to assuming that what you have is a 7.5 and you take the time to do it. Attention to detail is critical when setting up gears.
