7.5 l/s clutch pack

i have a l/s from a 7.5 lating around.....i do not hoave the id tag to it.....but to get nw clutches can i use the vin number from the truck or are all l/s clutch packs the same....it is from a 90 ranger stx....want to slap it in my 97 ranger!
