I was wondering is anyone can point me in a direction to help me start this restoration project. I need to know some things like what the factory door panels looked like. where to find the optional secondary gas tank that this one had installed. Factory bumpers etc etc... also how to find out what the truck color was originally before the military got a hold to it, it is an ex military truck and was ordered with 4.56 gears and a rear locker...I'm going to keep the 300 I-6, but put an offy intake header and all on it, do a shackle flip and get some lift springs for the front to clear 40's or 44's....

The older the truck, seems like the more after market parts. Several different f-100 forums out there, do a Google for a selection. I used Bob Drake but he only does up to '66'. Good luck with the color, probably came with the color it has now.

neither do i. put them into a photo bucket thingy or something then post the link

If it was a military truck chances are it was white.

Do you know if it has the "rare" Heavy duty 300 inline?

later,
Dustin

i want that kind truck or one similar for my other project that my dad wants out of the garage. just throwing that out there.

Cardomain or Photobucket, either one works. Beauty of a '66' is that a lot of the parts will work back to the '50' F-1. Looks like a good solid foundation to build on!

Sorry but a little paint and a 460 and it's gone! Those were when they were trucks.
Just having a little fun. If you have pictures posted on the net, they are really not hard at all to get posted here. I thought there was somewhere on the site that gave easy instructions how to load the pictures.
If not, you guys just give a shoot out, lots here will help you.

Just wondering, how do you know for sure it was a military truck?

Well one reason I know is cause the title was to the government and i bought it at a government auction for 300$, it came from a military base in houston. I dont know the diff between a reg 300 and a HD.....
