Alright so I've been reading up on doing the chevy 64" leaf spring swap in a ranger. just wondering if anyone knows from what years of chevy work? I know that the 88 - 98 work , but what about the later models like the 70s? are they still the same length?
The other thing I'm wondering is has anyone just used chevy 5" lift springs instead of rearching the 64s? (i'll be using a flipped shackle for maximum wheel travel) I'm looking at the superlift 01-385 leaves for chevy 1500 88-98 on summit racing.

Thanks, just trying to get all my parts list sorted so I can start ordering over the winter.

The earlier ones are shorter....56 or 57 inches IIRC.

Wahlstrom is running 5" 63" chevy lift leaves on his ranger spring over (skyjacker I think) with good results.

That's why they pay me the big bucks....:icon_thumby:

where do i sign up!?

and yes the 5in lift springs should work, however, ya might need to take out some of the thick cheby leaf's and add in a few thinner b2 or ranger leaves

Close, I'm rockin Pro-Comp 5.5" leafs and they work/ride/flex great! Even with 4 leafs and the overload they outflex stockers and ride better as well. Combined with the stock 2" block I'm around 8-9" of lift.

Running no block, and reversed shackle should gain you 4-5" of lift (my trucks heavy) and the tension shackle will get you BIG travel numbers.

tension shackles?

Stock ranger is a compression shackle set up, when you flip it you make it a tension shackle set up.

Alright, thats about the lift numbers I was looking for, with lots of travel.
