alright guys, i was sittin here scratchin my head wondering how everyone else has done this, im chewing up and spitting out exploder springs like its goin out of style, i need the beefier springs i know this, but i run into a dilema, what im i supposed to do about moving the hanger forward 6" into the mount for that body mount? some pics of others that have done this would be awesome, would really like to see what you made work

that section of frame is different on a bronco2, inorder for me to follow that write up i have to remove the body mount entirely, which in a vehicle i drive on the street is NOT going to happen

Someone here I know did the Chevys on a BII, though I can't remember who for sure ("NoV8, Why Drive?" I think?).

WHoever it was basically built a whole new bracket and incorporated both the body mount and leaf hanger all into one piece.

I'll see if I can find anything, though it might've been before the last forum board switch about 3½ years ago.

Edit:
It must've been before the board switch, not finding anything

maybe some ford 57's (i think they are 57's?)?? they are a little shorter so....???

if you find info on a 63 swap on the b2, make sure you post it up!!! i wanna look at it to. i wanna do the swap on mine.

i saved this pic from when "no v8, why drive?" was still around

IIRC, this setup put the axle 3" rearward from stock

Ah, that was it. Yeah he did allow the axle to be back 3" from stock. You'd have to have the body mount right over the spring eye if you want to keep the wheelbase stock, which would mean lowering the spring eye a bit.

Having the axle back 3" makes a HUGE improvement in stability for climbing hills, I'd do it just like No V8 did.

Also, the stock RBV springs are 57" (not sure what F-150 springs are).

i was thinking the b2's were like 53 or something... oops lol

so how does that sit the axle in the fender thing at 3 inches back? is 3 inches of trimming needed? lol

I have mine back 3", but using RBV springs.
I trimmed the fender accordingly, cutting most of it at the rear of the opening.

The Pacer Flexy-Flares hide the unevenness of it pretty well.

i might slide it back about a inch and a half, but its going to have to be done, this v8 even with 3.73's and 33's i was spitting out rbv springs one a bi daily status lol they are definatly needed, might do a write up on it, im also in the process of installing a cut down 79 hp 44, going to slide the axle forward about a inch when i do it, ill be happy with that

but its goin to be delayed slightly, i just picked up a running driving 86 lebaron convertible with the 2.5 in it for $200, id have been a fool not to buy it lol, 31k origin miles too lol

i have to take a few pics of a explorer im installing a 6" skyjacker system on, runnin the 8" holes with the 6" springs, without adjustable camber bushings its set perfect, spring overin it in the mornin, might stop bein lazy and snap a few pics
