61 Ranchero 4x4

Hmmmm.............

Thats a NEAT lil' truck..............I happen to know where theres one of those early Rancheros sittin for sale that would pass as a twin to that one for around $1500.

I'm pretty sure those Ranchero/Falcons were unibodies, so even puttin a 4X2 Ranger chassis under one would be a bonus.............the only thing I would do different would be to V8 it! Kinda gives me ideas for the 99 chassis sittin out back.:icon_twisted:

thanks..
the only plus I could see to do for the motor would be
put a Turbo coupe 2.3L in it (or Svo) , and run about
15psi. More room under the hood and less mess and more
hp available. (which may actually happen down the road
if this motor ever gets tired)
Nothing on the truck will remain white..
thinking of maybe a cool gunmetal, silver or even
maybe the cool Saturn Green that came out a few years ago.
I painted a Subaru Svx that color once.

Gunmetal would look cool

Cool! I don't check in to this site for like a month and now that I stopped in, I find another '61 Ranchero owner :) There's actually a red 4x4 lifted Ranchero for sale near me (I think it's a '62, no idea what it's got for running gear) and the guy wants crazy money for it. If you're in New England and you still have the original seat, I WANT it. Mine's got a Fairlane seat or something and I want one with a split back like it's supposed to have. Welcome to the site, btw!

Edit: disregard my seat request, just noticed the AZ plate on that SVX, lol

Nice looking for sure, not many still around that good. Welcome to the site. I've got a later one, a '66', that I've been working on forever. Dearborn Classics is my friend.

Im pretty far, ... Tucson Az
and the front seat is long gone, sorry :(

really leaning towards that Green color..
call it the Green Mamba !
with a grey, charcoal interior with green accents :)
Mercedes has a cool color, liquid pewter too.
Did another Subie that color a few yrs ago.

in comparison to a few of my other cars
its a pretty big truck.
I could do another 2" lift too all around
but that would "just be crazzzy" ha jk

Had '65 that I was gonna convert int a 4x4:icon_hornsup: lets see some shots of the under side, how the Falcon is mated to the Ranger

i really dig this critter:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

Welcome to TRS! Nice looking and very unique ride you have there. I like it, it's something different.:icon_thumby:

welcome to the site, nice job on the Ranchero Falcon

Welcome!

Clay: Elwood?! Damn, never heard of that. I have a buddy form Sulphur Springs, though!

I'd be interested in following this build, too. Haven't seen someone convert something like this before. Way cooler and better than lifted a camaro, classic mustang, or foxbody. Eek!

That is one nice truck . I like the turbo idea rather than the V-8. I would lift the rear much more that an inch , two at the most . I like the way it sits .
