6-channel JL

im putting the finishing touches on my stereo and i cant think of a creative way to mount my JL 6-channel. its pretty big! i mounted my JL 500/1 under the rear jumper seat on the passenger side, just enough clearance to fold the seat down and still be functional. on the driver side in the back i built a custom box to fit in the enclosure the jump seat was previously in for my 12" mtx 7500. i have focal 5 1/4's in the front with crossovers and matching tweaters. the rear has alpine 5 1/4's with infinite tweaters. the head unit is a jensen 6.5" touch screen with dvd. took me forever to piece it together and all i have left is to mount my last amp but ive run out of creative ideas.

haha kinda what i was thinking lol dont know about focal comp. never heard of em, but im sure even being cheap you could find a better headunit then a jensen.

focal is a very high end brand, some of the better stuff available (Utopias are insane) Jl is pretty good but i would have spend a little more on the head unit.

i doubt he has utopias but even their entry level stuff is great.

i know i know i should get a better deck but it was the first piece i bought. it was like the first gen of touch screen systems, ive had it for 3 years and it still works like the day i bought it, cant complain. i wouldnt buy their single din cd players but their touch screens systems have came quite a ways. ive definitely been looking to upgrade soon to a new touch screen system and im getting as far away from a jensen as i can

im not trying to bash u i just got a kick out of it. I like your taste in audio except the jensen get a head unit with time alignment and active processing so you can fine tune everything. Make those speakers shine.

thats quite a head unit. im a pretty big eclipse fan, thats what my previous deck was, only much cheaper. i also have a set of their older 6 1/2 separtates. but thow much better are my speakers going to sound for 2300 bucks? when i could get quite a few more pony's with that dough

when you start getting in to DVd players they get pricey, and kinda unneeded unless your hanging out in your truck. or trying to "pimp" which is stupid, never paid more the $400 for a HU and the better ones have built in xovers and can DTA settings what size each speaker is and some pretty cool stuff.
it just helps control everthing makes it just that much better.

i would never pay retail for it, i got it off craigslist for dirt cheap since he had lost the gps antenna but since i had a friend that worked at circuit city i got a replacement one for free. Im planning on getting rid of it and getting a more sq oriented head unit like the eclipse 7200mkii. I used to use the tv a lot when i had an xbox in my car with all my music and movies on it but now i just use an ipod so i dont really need a screen anymore.

i had a cheap dual flip out before and those blow, never used jensen but plenty of my friends had them and its a bottom of the line head unit with a screen and thats about it.

^what he said, unless your running a car pc screens are pretty pointless other than to look cool to noobs. if you spent the money on high end comps and amps id recommend a half way decent head unit to power them.
Pioneer 800/880prs, Alpine 9886/9887 among many others come to mind. try a good one and i bet you will never touch a jensen again.

thats what im planning on running next, no internal amp, copper chassis, 8v preoouts, 24bit dsp, time alignment, 3-way active crossovers, etc...
