I poop in the furnace.
Holy crap this is an awesome round! :shok:

It's is a precision shooter favorite for long action rifles.

I always liked my .308 guns... trusty, reliable, accurate, plenty of range and power

But my new delta 5 pro in 6.5 creedmoor shoots flatter than anything I've ever shot. It's like these bullets aren't even effected by wind or gravity. :yahoo:

Now if it was only legal to actually fire it in NJ...

The Crymore? :p

I bought a 6.5 Grendel upper for my son's AR, mostly because that's about the limit for what will go in it, for 6.5s.

Got a Swede mauser from 1909 I think, that will shoot surprisingly small groups.... if I can see the iron sights anymore. Need to get it out of the safe and see.

Yeah they're all good. Two thumbs up!

I prefer .308 as a general purpose round but one can't argue about the capabilities and performance 6.5 Creedmore has. If I was to get seriously into precision shooting, that would be a round I would seriously consider.

6.5 Grendel for short action. Whatever it is about 6.5 cartridges, they seem to be superior to most of their competing rounds but the competing rounds also tend to be cheaper and easier to acquire.

Grendel fits in an AR (based on the soviet 7.62x39 case I think). Creedmoor is .308 case head size I think? AR-10 or bolt gun.

At least that's my understanding.

Yea 6.5 creedmoor is basically a necked down .308 case.

I only fired off 25 rounds today zeroing in. (I only have 100 rounds total and no telling when or where I can get more). I'm not sure how much of a punch it has at long range compared to the .308 but I don't hunt so not really a concern of mine. But It's like a damn lazer for long range target shooting though. I love this gun.

I'm now considering having my brother in law build me an DD5 v4 and selling my 5.56 stuff.

You are correct. Grendel is short action and Creedmore is long action. AR-15 = short. AR-10 = Long.

I forget what the Grendel is based on. You might be right on the case. Creedmore is based on the .308 case.

I am slowly finding the that the members of this forum - The Ranger Station - have some very unique and interesting "hobbies."

Rangers don’t break very often... we need something else to do with our time.

Grendel is based on a cartridge that is based on a cartidge that is based on the 7.62x39.

I think the creedmore is based off of a Tompson Center round. It might trace back to a .308 but the case is overal shorter.

I have a grendel, it is fun but expensive to feed for what it is. I shoot my 7.62x39 more.

For hunting like out west (antelope, mule deer etc) I don't know, my 30-06 is lighter, same or cheaper bullet price and has a lot more whoopie at hunting ranges.

If I had it to do over again I am not sure I would have built the Grendel.

I would LOVE to build a 6.5 Swede 700 some day.

Performance and ballistics are so similar between .30-06 and .308, I'll just stick with .308. .30-06 has slightly longer range, that's about it.

I've heard some very good things about 6.5 Swede but I've never seen one. The Swedes got it right long before anyone else did. They came out with the cartridge in 1890 something.
